v4.45.0 — Multiple people per task, and Microsoft Project plans that finally come through complete

A task can have multiple owners. A primary owner is kept —the one accountable for it, and to whom the hours and cost are counted— and you add as many co-owners as needed. Everyone sees it in their list and everyone receives the due-date notifications, but co-owners don’t add hours: the project’s effort still adds up and the workload map doesn’t get inflated. An external contact can also be a co-owner and, if they have portal access, they see the task and update its status.

Importing and exporting Microsoft Project no longer loses information. Before, when exporting, the file came out without the team — not even the single owner. Now all the people travel with their rates, and on reimport they’re recognized without duplicating contacts. Task notes go back and forth as comments, and whatever the plan brings that has no field of its own here —progress, baseline, constraints, the scheduler’s custom columns— is saved as a readable comment instead of being lost. Also gone is the junk task named after the file (“msproj11”) that showed up hanging at the root of the project.

The budget crosses over too. Project cost, each task’s fixed cost and team rates, in both directions and in the project’s currency (before, it always said dollars).

Workload map inside the project. The team workload board can now be viewed from the case itself, in its Members tab — exactly what you want to look at after importing a plan, to see how the work was distributed.

External portal, two details that were long overdue: the access address is in plain view on the administration screen (it was the usual cause of “what was the link again?”), and when you add a contact to a project you can leave their invitation ready without sending it yet (it’s off by default; you turn it on in the portal settings).

Comments are displayed with formatting. Bold, lists, tables and code are shown as such, not with the symbols visible — and mentions remain intact.

Visible fixes: the owner of subtasks showed up as a dash in the tree view (and with multiple owners it even showed the wrong person); single-name contacts —a department like “Treasury,” a company name— appeared as “Unnamed Contact” throughout the application; and the portal settings screen saved into the void, losing changes without warning.

Includes an additive migration that doesn’t touch any existing task and runs on its own at startup. Update backend and frontend together.
