What’s new? v4.80 The files mounted on your computer

The firm’s files, mounted on your computer

v4.80.0 — The firm’s files, mounted on your computer

The case file’s network folder had never worked since its launch. It had existed since v4.27.1 and hadn’t been reachable from the internet for a single day: every instance update erased its route, so the program trying to connect ended up going around in an endless redirect loop. Now the case file is mounted as just another drive in the file explorer, with Mountain Duck, Cyberduck, rclone, the Mac Finder, or Windows Explorer.

And “Análisis de Peña (final).docx” was saved as “Analisis_de_Pena_final.docx”. Every document’s name went through a folding process meant for file system names, and the result was also saved as the display name: in a Spanish-language product, that stripped out accents, ñs, spaces, and parentheses. It affected the entire application, not just the network folder. Through the network folder it was worse than ugly: the program uploaded a file, the server saved it under another name, the program didn’t recognize what it had just uploaded and retried — a single upload left three documents.

Real syncing. Uploading the same file twice creates a version, not a duplicate. The modification date and the checksum travel both ways, so syncing stops re-uploading everything on every pass and does detect an edited file that has the same size; and a file that gets corrupted along the way is rejected instead of being saved silently. The network folder also no longer offers delete, move, copy, and create folder —four things the system reserves for the application, because they carry versions, search, and auditing with them—, instead of showing them in the menu and failing when used.

Settings › Modules left a permanent error on every add-on. It said “No module named plugins” even though they worked: the warning from an old hiccup stayed stuck forever because nothing cleared it when they loaded correctly again. And on consulting, project management, and sales instances, the assistant now reaches the doctrine from the contracted role packages, which had been available since August but the chat couldn’t get to it.

Updating doesn’t turn anything on: the network folder remains off by default. Existing documents keep the name they have — the original wasn’t saved anywhere, and reconstructing it would be making it up.
